Before you apply to adopt a dog, please read the following:

• You must be at least 21 years old to adopt a Vindicated dog

• Do your research! "Pit bulls" are highly intelligent and active dogs. Consider if you have the time it takes to properly socialize, work with, care for and love your dog.

• Renters will need landlord approval; we will speak with them!

• You must live in the DC Metropolitan area

• We will perform a public records check

• If you live in Prince George’s County: The County’s pit bull breed ban has been repealed so as of 2/2/2026 it is now legal to own a “pit bull-type terrier” in the County. However, there are some requirements — you must register your dog and complete a PGC Pet Parenting Class. For more info: Prince George’s County Animal Licensing

Please be advised that the dog you’ve requested to adopt may not be the right fit for you. We do not adopt our dogs out on a “first come first served” basis. We focus on ensuring a good match between adopter and dog.
